A leading distribution center in Clements Ferry Road, Charleston, SC is looking for a dependable and experienced Cherry Picker Operator to join our team. This is an order picking role, so your main tasks will involve using the forklift to retrieve items from warehouse shelves for shipment and helping package and label them for order fulfillment. Other tasks include keeping track of inventory changes and completing daily production reports. Applicants should have at least six months to a year of experience operating a sit-down cherry picker or forklift, and some shipping and receiving experience is preferred. All applicants must be able to pass a drug test and background check.


Job Location: Clements Ferry

1st Shift: Schedule is Monday - Friday 6:00 am - 2:30 pm and overtime as required.


Cherry Picker ( High Reach Forklift) Operator Duties and Responsibilities

• Use a cherry picker forklift to place or remove large items on warehouse shelves
• Package and label items for shipment
• Keep track of shipments and product relocations within the warehouse
• Use a cherry picker forklift with a work platform to elevate workers so they can check inventory
• Follow all safety regulations
• Assist with other tasks as needed, including loading and unloading delivery trucks

Cherry Picker Operator Requirements and Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED certificate (preferred)
• Six or more months of experience operating a cherry picker or forklift
• Experience operating a pallet jack (preferred)
• OSHA certification (preferred)
• Hand-eye coordination
• Mechanical skills
• Physical stamina
• PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS (any specific physical attributes or limiting factors to be accounted for):
  While performing the duties of this job, the employee will spend a large majority of time walking, standing, and using hands to push/pull. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee is required to lift and /or move up to 20 to 50 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds occasionally. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee may be exposed to hot or cold temperatures, outside weather conditions, and the risk of electrical shock. The employee may be exposed to high, precarious places; fumes, or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
