Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A full-time special education teaching opportunity is available for the 2025-2026 school year within an elementary school setting located in Willimantic, CT. This contract position spans from ASAP through June 2026, working approximately 32.5 to 35 hours per week. The role involves managing an elementary caseload mainly consisting of students from kindergarten through fourth grade.

Responsibilities include:

  • Delivering specialized instructional support tailored to students with diverse learning needs
  • Collaborating with classroom teachers and support staff to implement IEPs effectively
  • Monitoring student progress and adapting strategies to enhance learning outcomes
  • Supporting a dual language environment when possible, as Spanish-English bilingual skills are considered a plus
  • Maintaining a positive and inclusive classroom environment conducive to student growth

Qualifications:

  • Prior experience working as a special education teacher in a school setting is required
  • Strong understanding of individualized education plans and related services
  • Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues
  • Bilingual Spanish and English skills are an advantage but not mandatory
